Here are some of our favourite spots for a holiday home or a new life by the sea. Cornwall’s most northerly coastal town, Bude, is a bustling seaside town with a lively atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy a variety of water sports, such as surfing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, or take a stroll along the sandy beaches and clifftop paths.

Take the scenic route 35 miles south of Bude and you’ll find yourself in the celebrated town of Padstow. Famed for its outstanding array of foodie offerings for one small fishing village, Padstow is just a short ride across the estuary from Rock – the upmarket village popular with celebrities and boating enthusiasts. Just next door to Padstow is Constantine Bay – this rugged coastline is a popular spot for surfing and swimming, and is known to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall, with its clear turquoise waters and soft golden sand, it’s the perfect place to relax and become mesmerised by the roar of the Atlantic waves.

Twenty minutes further south, via some winding country lanes, you will come across Trevarrian, situated between Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth on the beautifully rugged North Cornwall Coast, this quaint hamlet is set among stunning coastline of golden beaches and sand dunes. On the south coast, the sea becomes softer, calmer and the climate is that little bit warmer. Here you’ll find Falmouth – with streets lined with palm trees, you could be forgiven for thinking you’re somewhere further afield! Falmouth is cosmopolitan and creative, it has an annual festival rooted in the town’s maritime heritage, outstanding beaches, glistening water and glorious green spaces, as well as numerous little galleries along steep cobbled streets – this fishing town with a creative flair is perfect for a daytrip, a holiday or a home. Around 11 miles north of Falmouth is Cornwall’s capital of Truro – a foodie and shopping destination, filled with cobbled streets and historic architecture including a beautiful gothic cathedral. Alternatively, a further half an hour cross country will take you to Duporth – situated within walking distance of the unspoilt Georgian port of Charlestown, Duporth offers a secluded beach only accessible via the South West Coast Path – the blue of the sea is enchanting and  guaranteed to make you want to stay.
