Cornwall after dark

November 17, 2017

As the sun sets and the crowds leave the beaches exhausted from the days’ adrenalin fuelled activities you may believe that Cornwall also retires for the night, this is far from the reality. After dark Cornwall has plenty to offer and has something to suit everyone, you just need to know where to find them.

Restaurants, Bars and Pubs

Cornwall as a region has more Michelin starred restaurants outside of London than anywhere else with many celebrity chefs setting up down here; with Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac, Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth in Padstow and Jamie Oliver at Fifteen in Watergate Bay just 3 miles from our development One Lusty Glaze in Newquay, you will never be short of fine dining.

For a more rustic and family-friendly approach head to the Hidden Hut and their feast nights at Porthcurnick Beach, these are outdoor ‘bring your own plate’ affairs. They cook just one dish per event showcasing the best produce on their doorstep and you can take your own drink, a great opportunity to share the experience with friends, family and other lovers of Cornwall.

An ale lover? Head to traditional Cornish pubs across the county to enjoy the local ales and get involved with the impromptu sea shanty sessions or watch the sunset in a beachfront bar whilst sipping a signature cocktail.

Theatre

If theatre is your thing then you will never be short on plays to watch in Cornwall. The amazing Minack Theatre is an awe-inspiring outdoor venue overlooking the sea and holds events throughout the summer or choose The Hall for Cornwall in Truro a very busy venue with the latest pantomimes, plays and comedians.

Music

From gigs in hidden coves to the latest music artists at the Eden Project, you will never be short on live music options.

The sundowner sessions at Lusty Glaze Beach is a great place to listen to the weekly music sessions and unwind with a drink as the sun sets over the Atlantic. The most picturesque music venue in the UK according to The Times, Lusty Glaze Beach attracts headliners such as Newton Faulkner, Ben Howard and The Kooks and is a stone’s throw away from our apartments and houses at One Lusty Glaze.

The Eden Project attracts some great artists, in recent months it has hosted live music from Elton John, Tom Jones and Ellie Goulding in the infamous bio-domes.
