Job description
We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our Aftercare Team and work on our portfolio of completed and live developments in and around the Bristol area.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be carrying out a wide range of duties in our live and unoccupied properties and will work closely with our Aftercare Team to address any issues that arise, providing solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Main duties and responsibilities;
- General carpentry works
- Minor external works (patios, walls and masonry repairs)
- Minor making good and painting, decorating and other general home repair works
- Silicone and other types of sealants works
- Minor plumbing and leak investigation works
- Minor electrical (programming/settings only) works
- Minor tiling and grouting works
- Minor plastering works
- Lock & code changes
- Windows & door adjustments
- Fixing any safety hazards
- Putting together furniture and other equipment
- Liaising with Contractors and Subcontractors
- Assisting the Customer Care team with occupiers’ defects
- Assist the Site teams with general snagging
- Liaising with purchasers
- Any additional duties that the business may require you to undertake.
Skills;
- Strong and efficient problem solving and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and prioritise and deliver the assigned works on time
- Excellent communication skills to interact with our residents and understand their needs.
- Ability to operate safely and have a good knowledge of H&S
- Dealing with purchaser complaints
- Discrete and flexible
- Focused and self-motivated
- Self-reliant and responsible
- Interacting with people and working cohesively with them
- Some plumbing, carpentry, and electrical experience
- Time management and organisation
Candidate qualifications and profile;
- NVQ/HNC or Similar in Construction related profession preferred but not essential
- CSCS card
- Full clean driving license
- Professional conduct essential
- A team player but able to work unsupervised, taking pride and responsibility for work tasks/projects
- Be able to complete and send work sheets and photographs electronically via our defect reporting system.
