Bath Christmas Market, Bath: 22 November – 9 December
This award-winning market has 180 chalets selling everything from handcrafted jewellery to homeware, personalised presents and decorations from local designers and makers. And if you are trying to have a greener Christmas look out for the recycled decorations by Christine Leech, Creative Director of Marie Claire Runway Magazine.
SS Great Britain’s Victorian Weekend, Bristol: 8 & 9 December
Step back in time as Brunel’s ship and the dockyard are transformed into a Dickensian scene. Experience of the hustle and bustle of life on the docks, meet Victorian characters, enjoy festive food and drink and carol singing plus many more activities
The Harbourside Market, Bristol: Every weekend until 16th December
Stroll along the Harbourside where there is a 50-stall Makers’ Market, selling festive decorations and showcasing the city’s most creative small businesses. There will also be a new street food square outside the Hippodrome, for some tasty food.
A Christmas Carol, Bristol Old Vic: 29 Nov – 13 Jan
What could embody the spirit of Christmas more than Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol?
This stage adaptation promises to be a festive feast as the funny and heart-warming story of miser Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim unfolds.
Santas on the run, Bristol: 10th December
Thousands of Santas will be taking part in a two-kilometre run in aid of the South West Children’s Hospice. A great family day for an amazing cause! Head down to the Bristol Harbourside to join in on the festive fun.
Bristol Christmas Market, Bristol: 9th November – 23rd December
Located in the heart of Bristol City Centre, there is plenty to discover with over 50 unique stalls, festive drinks and live music in the Jäger Barn Bar or have a go at the winter sport of curling!
