Here we chat to Ian, our fantastic Site Manager at Manor Court – our Cotswold collection of just six 4 and 5 bedroom houses. Ian tells us about his background and the highlights of Manor Court.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role within Acorn Property Group?
I joined Acorn in May 2023 as a senior site manager for the Manor Court development in Greet, Gloucestershire. I’ve been in the building industry for more than 40 years with 32 of those years in site management.
My day-to-day role ensures sequence of work of work on site and ensuring that we keep up with the build program, in order to be on schedule and on budget. The very key part of my role is keeping everybody safe on site.
Can you tell us about the Manor Court development?
Set in the beautiful location of The Cotswolds, Manor Court is six lovely bespoke large detached houses, five of which are four beds and Honeybourne House is a five bed.
Can you tell us about the sustainable features of Manor Court?
Sustainability is key at Manor Court and each plot is designed to be as energy efficient as possible. We are looking to get an EPC A on all six plots – so as low as we can on the EPC scale. To help us achieve this we will have air source heat pumps and we are also installing solar panels, as well as also adding a five-kilowatt battery to be stored in the roof for as a backup. We also have EV charging and underfloor heating on the first and second floor, plus triple glazing to all our windows and doors as well.
We also have systems to help with urban drainage – this enables storm water to flow off the 6 houses into a small attenuation balancing pond and two hydro-gate manholes which basically slows the rate at which water will run off this development into the mains water, into Market Lane.
Can you talk to us about the specification highlights at Manor Court?
We have a great specification at Manor Court. Our kitchens are shaker-style with Caesar Stone Worktops as standard and also 90cm Range Master Elise cookers and Bosche integrated appliances. The bathrooms are all Vitra with Vado taps and the tiling spec is very, very good.
