Acorn Property Group has submitted a planning application to regenerate a section of the former Rolle College purchased from the Deaf Academy at the end of 2019.
Situated less than a 10-minute walk to Exmouth Beach and adjacent to the new purpose-built school, the planning application for thirty-nine 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, bungalows and houses is set to transform the vacant site that has become an eyesore and magnet for antisocial behaviour.
This prime residential development will see the creation of thirty-five bespoke new build homes along with the careful conversion of the Grade II listed Eldin House which will provide four characterful 2 and 3 bedroom apartments.
The application has been submitted following direct engagement and extensive consultation with local residents and council officers.
Ed Lewis, Regional Director for Acorn’s Exeter region said: “Providing a scheme that will be a positive contribution to the area and be well received by the local community is very important to us. We have been working closely with local residents and authorities for a number of months and are pleased to have submitted the scheme for planning. Long disused, the site has fallen into a serious state of disrepair and become a concern for local residents. The adjacent new Deaf Academy looks fantastic so we are keen to finish off the regeneration of this area”.
Subject to planning approval, construction is due to start in spring 2021 with the first homes delivered spring 2022 and completion expected by summer 2022.
