Just over two weeks ago, Simon and Luke from the Bristol team embarked on a 3-day cycling challenge with Vado Velo covering 250 miles from Calais to Reims in aid of the African Children’s Fund with 38 other keen cyclists. Not for the faint-hearted, the pair completed an impressive 80 miles per day across the stunning countryside of Northern France. Passing rolling hills, canals, small French villages, and magnificent cathedrals whilst stopping in Arras, Saint-Quentin, and Reims, there was no shortage of impressive sights along the way. Most striking of all though were the cemeteries and military graves from World War I which were dotted along the route echoing remembrance and the great sacrifices that were made.
Overall, the bike ride raised over £75,000 with all funds raised going towards the charity.
A big congratulations to Simon and Luke who threw themselves into this challenging ride. Thanks also to everyone who donated and helped make this challenge a success – your donations will help change lives and enable the charity to continue their incredible work.
